After breakfast, you will head towards Chefchaouen, the famous " blue" city - with its white washed walls and its blue doors and windows. Unlike many parts of Morocco, this city was occupied by Spain and the influences of Spanish civilisation and architecture are all around. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet locals and walk in this beautiful Medina. Afer lunch, The tour would include a visit to the old medina...the main square, Uta el-Hammam, offering an authentic look at Moroccan life, the kasbah Museum. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.
After an early breakfast, you will set out in the morning to the ancient Roman Ruins of Volubilis. Take a step back in time as you are guided through these 2000-year-old ruins to admire some mosaics that are still in very good shape . After lunch in Meknes, you will see the fascinating gate Bab Mansour built by the sultan My Ismail; the granary and the Sahrij Souani used for irrigation and plantation. Your next stop is Fez. Dinner will be served in your Riad.
After breakfast, the whole day is devoted to discover the ancient walled city of Fez -- one of the largest cities in the world. A guided tour to explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruits,heaps of spices, intricately carved doors and arches and many other artistic objects of Morocco. A visit to the King's Palace, the Tanneries, and the potters sections. After winding your way deeply into the medina, you will get to have lunch at one of the best restaurant in Fez ( not included). After lunch, you will complete the tour and return to your Hotel for a comfortable evening. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant.
After breakfast, you will leave Fez travelling towards Ifrane, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then to Merzouga via Azrou and the Ziz Valley. During this journey you will experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you may see Barbary apes. You will notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. Your journey continues to Merzouga via the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. You will enjoy a camel ride to admire the sunset over the dunes and you will spend the night in a traditional Berber tent ( Dinner is included). CAMP -- private Berber Tent.
Early morning, your camel man will wake you up early to watch and admire one of the best sunrises in your life. After, you will camel trek back to your Riad in Merzouga to have your breakfast and start to discover the Gnawa village of the dark skin people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Then, you continue exploring the ancient town called Rissani nearby Erfoud with its colourful old market. You will have lunch tasting the local speciality of the area " Berber Pizza or Madfouna in Rissani. Overnight in Riad.
After breakfast in the Riad, you’ll leave for Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge you’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a fancy Hotel/Riad overlooking the Dades valley.
After breakfast, you set off to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. Nestled in the High Atlas Mountains, it is one of the pearls of Morocco. This city is called Hollywood of Africa and many filmmakers make movies there more than any other location in Morocco; films including, Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and The Gladiator. Lunch can be taken at Ait Ben Haddou. After lunch, you will head over the mountains to Marrakech. Once in Marrakech, you will check into your Hotel / Riad and then head off to the Square Jemaa el-Fna, the center of the Medina. Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbecue pits, the square is well worth a visit. A quiet cup of mint tea on the terrace of an adjacent cafe provides a spectacular aerial view of the bustling square. Dinner will be served at the Riad.
After breakfast, you will have a guided tour of Marrakech, the southern jewel of Morocco. You will discover the Palace of the Bahia, Medrassa Ben youssef, Majorel garden and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue with the tour on the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and return to the Jemaa el-Fna. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the Souk ( marketplace) of Marrakech. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant or near the big square.
Today you will have a day trip to Essaouira; Essaouira is a small resort city located on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Its medina (old town) is protected by 18th-century seafront ramparts called the Skala de la Kasbah, which were designed by European engineers. Old brass cannons line the walls, and there are ocean views. Strong “Alizée” trade winds make the city’s crescent beach popular for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Afternoon we will drive back to Marrakech.
