Upon arrival in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, you will be met by your driver and start your time with a tour of the Hassan II Great Mosque - one of the biggest in the world. You will then be transferred by private vehicle to your Rabat Hotel/ Riad, where you will check in and rest from your travels. As time permits, you may like to see some of Rabat - the administratif capital and residence of the king... enjoy the beautiful coastal city including the ancient medina with its ramparts, kasbah of the Oudayas, the Royal Palace Gate and Hassan Tower. Dinner will be served at the Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, you will head towards Chefchaouen, the famous " blue" city - with its white washed walls and its blue doors and windows. Unlike many parts of Morocco, this city was occupied by Spain and the influences of Spanish civilisation and architecture are all around. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet locals and walk in this beautiful Medina. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, you will have a tour of this " fresh" blue town located in the Rif Mountains. The tour would include a visit to the old medina...the main square, Uta el-Hammam, offering an authentic look at Moroccan life, the kasbah Museum with interior/ exterior gardens, a small waterfall -- Ras el Maa-- located east of the medina often frequented by locals and perhaps a visit to a women's coop to have a demonstration about their work and artistry. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant.
After an early breakfast, you will set out in the morning to the ancient Roman Ruins of Volubilis. Take a step back in time as you are guided through these 2000-year-old ruins. Lunch will be taken in Meknes. Your next stop is Fez. Dinner will be served in your Riad.
After breakfast, the whole day is devoted to discover the ancient walled city of Fez -- one of the largest cities in the world. A guided tour to explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruits,heaps of spices, intricately carved doors and arches and many other artistic objects of Morocco. A visit to the King's Palace, the Tanneries, and the potters sections. After winding your way deeply into the medina, you will get to have lunch at one of the best restaurant in Fez ( not included). After lunch, you will complete the tour and return to your Hotel for a comfortable evening. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant.
After an early breakfast, you will start your ascent across the middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, jagged rock faces, and Berber Amazigh villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to descend towards the Sahara Desert. Half way, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks. You will continue driving to Erfoud. Dinner will be served in the Kasbah Hotel.
Most of the day will be spent relaxing at the Hotel or exploring the ancient town called Rissani nearby Erfoud with its colourful old market. You will have lunch tasting the local speciality of the area " Berber Pizza or Madfouna in Rissani. In the afternoon, you will head towards the barren land to the majestic Sahara and dunes. You will enjoy a camel ride to admire the sunset over the dunes and you will spend the night in a traditional Berber tent ( Dinner is included). CAMP -- private Berber Tent
Early morning, your camel man will wake you up early to watch and admire one of the best sunrises in your life. After, you will camel trek back to your Riad in Merzouga. En-route taking in the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast in the Riad, you will leave for Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge you continue driving to Ouarzazate through the Dades Valley and Skoura. Overnight will be in a kasbah.
After an early breakfast, you set off to Marrakesh via Ouarzazate. Tucked away in the High Atlas Mountains, it is one of the pearls of Morocco. in typical Moroccan fashion, the true treasures must be searched out and discovered...usually off the beaten path. This setting has been used for more films than any other location in Morocco; films including, Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and The Gladiator. Lunch can be taken at Ait Ben Haddou. After lunch, you will head over the mountains to Marrakesh. Once in Marrakesh, you will check into your Hotel / Riad and then head off to the Square Jemaa el-Fna, the center of the Medina. Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbecue pits, the square is well worth a visit. A quiet cup of mint tea on the terrace of an adjacent cafe provides a spectacular aerial view of the bustling square. Dinner will be served at the Riad.
After breakfast, you will have a guided tour of Marrakesh, the southern jewel of Morocco. You will discover the Palace of the Bahia, the Saadian Tombs, Majorel garden and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue with the tour on the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and return to the Jemaa el-Fna. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the Souk ( marketplace) of Marrakesh. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant or near the big square.
After breakfast or depending on your flight time, you will be taken to the Airoport in Marrakesh for your departure.
