Upon arrival, our team will welcome you and later on you will travel to Fez via Rabat, Meknes and Volubilis. In Rabat, you will see the Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah. In Meknes, another significant imperial city in Morocco, known as the Ismaili capital of Morocco, you will see the famous gate Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Souani Basin and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch, your journey continues to Volubilis, the Roman ruins, dating to 2000 BC before we continue to Fes via the foothills of the Rif Mountains in the late afternoon. Overnight in Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, you will begin exploring the oldest imperial city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts with visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarters and first Mellah ever built in Morocco during the 16th century. Be sure that you visit is devoted to the sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University – the oldest in the world, the Tanneries, the Attarine museum and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit the tiles cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fez. In the afternoon, a visit the new city “La Ville nouvelle” for a drink. Overnight in Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, you will leave the city of Fez travelling towards Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz valley. Today you will travel via Ifrane, a beautiful mountain village, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. During this journey you willl see glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you can see the Barbary apes. Your journey continues to Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas. After lunch in Midelt, you will be travelling through the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau, seeing how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views en-route through Erfoud and Rissani with our arrival in Merzouga in the late afternoon. You will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check-in to your Riad.
After breakfast, you will start to discover the area. You will visit the Gnawa village of the dark skin people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Nearby there is the lake of Merzouga to admire, with its migratory bird populations. In the afternoon it’s time to get a desert turban before your camel safari of one hour and half starts heading to the mysteriously impressive sand-sea of Erg-Chebbi; the highest sand dune in Morocco to see one of the best sunsets in your life. This trek will be guided by an experienced camel man where Dinner is a Bivouac in front of the tent where you will spend the night (the camp is equipped with flush-toilets and shower).
Early morning, your camel man will wake you up early to watch and admire one of the best sunrises in your life. After, you will camel trek back to your Riad in Merzouga. En-route taking in the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast in the Riad, you will leave for Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge you continue driving through the Dades Valley, where you will see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a fancy hotel overlooking the Dades valley. Overnight in Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, you will drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. You will stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose city”, to purchase the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over before continuing onto the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – the largest Kasbah in Morocco. The Kasbah was built by Et Hami El Glaoui, one of the last berebr chieftains during the 18th century. It’s now a house of many Glaoui people. Your journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, before arriving at your accommodation in Marrakesh. Overnight in Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, you will have a guided tour of Marrakesh, the southern jewel of Morocco. You will discover the Majorelle garden, the Bahia palace, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue with the tour on the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and the then you will have an opportunity to walk around the Square Jemaa el-Fna full with magicians, story tellers, snake charmers and food sellers. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the Souk ( marketplace) of Marrakesh. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant. Overnight in our Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, you will travel to the airport for your departure flight.
