DAY 1: TANGER PORT – CHEFCHAOUEN

Upon your arrival, we will meet you in the port of Tanger Med and start your 8 Days Morocco Desert Tour From Tangier to Marrakesh by driving through the Rif mountains and Tetouan city to enjoy beautiful landscapes till you reach chefchaouen; one of the stunning villages in the foot of the Rif mountains with a medina having a Spanish-style square surrounded by many funky arts and crafts stores, roof-top restaurants and cafes where you will spend you night in a nice place to enjoy the breeze and the beauty of nature. Overnight in a Riad.

DAY 2: CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FEZ

Start your authentic journey towards the 2000 year-old ancient Roman Ruins of Volubilis crossing Ouazan and other Rif villages, in volubilis you will be guided to learn about the archeological site of Moroccan history, after you will shift your way to Meknes; a 17th century heritage site where you will stop for lunch and hang around the historical huge walls of the medina, Bab Mansour and enjoy a visit of Moulay Ismail’s shrine. After the visit of Meknes, we will continue driving directly to Fez city where you will spend the night. Overnight in a Riad/ Hotel.

DAY 3: FEZ MEDINA EXPLORATION

Begin exploring the oldest imperial city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts with visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarters and first Mellah ever built in Morocco during the 16th century. Be sure that your visit is devoted to the sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University – the oldest in the world, the Tanneries, the Attarine museum and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit the tiles cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fez. In the afternoon, a visit to the new city “La Ville nouvelle” for a drink. Overnight in Hotel/Riad.

DAY 4: FEZ – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA – CAMEL SAFARI

After breakfast, you will leave Fez travelling towards Ifrane, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then to Merzouga via Azrou and the Ziz Valley. During this journey you will experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you may see Barbary apes. You will notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. Your journey continues to Merzouga via the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. You will enjoy a camel ride to admire the sunset over the dunes and you will spend the night in a traditional Berber tent ( Dinner is included). CAMP -- private Berber Tent.

DAY 5: MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY

Wake up early to watch the best sunrise of your life. Then, you peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga. En-route you will not fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast, you leave for Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge you’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a fancy hotel overlooking the Dades valley. Overnight in Hotel/Riad.

DAY 6: DADES VALLEY– AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, you set off to Marrakesh via Ouarzazate. Nestled in the High Atlas Mountains, it is one of the pearls of Morocco. This city is called Hollywood of Africa and many filmmakers make movies there more than any other location in Morocco; films including, Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and The Gladiator. Lunch can be taken at Ait Ben Haddou. After lunch, you will head over the mountains to Marrakesh. Once in Marrakesh, you will check into your Hotel / Riad and then head off to the Square Jemaa el-Fna, the center of the Medina. Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbecue pits, the square is well worth a visit. A quiet cup of mint tea on the terrace of an adjacent cafe provides a spectacular aerial view of the bustling square. Dinner will be served at the Riad.

DAY 7: MARRAKECH MEDINA EXPLORATION

After breakfast, you will have a guided tour of Marrakesh, the southern jewel of Morocco. You will discover the Majorel garden, the Bahia palace, ben Youssef Medersa and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue your tour to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque, the Jemaa el-Fna Square and end it with an exploration of the Souk (marketplace) of Marrakesh. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant or near the big square.

DAY 8: MARRAKECH – DEPARTURE
