Upon arrival in Marrakech, the jewel of the south, you meet your driver/guide to take you to your Hotel/Riad, where you will check-in and freshen up from travels. Visit Jemaa el-Fna Square at night and entertain with the magicians, story tellers, henna makers and fortune tellers. You will have the option to eat dinner here or can be served in your accommodations.
Today, you will have a guided tour of Marrakech, the southern jewel of Morocco. You will discover the Majorel garden, the Bahia palace, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue with the tour on the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and return again to the Jemaa el-Fna. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the Souk ( marketplace) of Marrakech. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant or near the big square.
Start to drive through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260m) in the High Atlas to enjoy the beauty of the landscapes around. Afterwards, we pass through Berber villages. Then, we will visit Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – A listed world Heritage Site by Unesco and the largest Kasbah in Morocco where you will enjoy lunch and explore the area. Later on, we continue to Ouarzazate nicknamed as “the Hollywood of Africa” to visit the local Kasbah of Pasha Glaoui and the Atlas studio.Then we drive along the “Road of Thousand and one Kasbahs”. Hence we stop at “Kalaat Mgouna”, famous for its damascena roses and annual Fair in May. We continue to Dades Oasis. Overnight in a local Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast, we drive through the Dades Oasis to admire the amazing rock formation called “the Monkey toes”. Then, we continue driving to reach the enchanting town of Tinghir to enjoy panoramic views of Todra valley and walk under the 300 m high red cliff. In the first place, many rock-climbers come here to enjoy this adventure sport. After lunch, we continue our journey to Erfoud - Capital of fossils in Morocco. Later on, we drive to Rissani where we take a Berber lunch before heading to the village of Merzouga where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before checking in to your Riad for Overnight.
Start to discover the area. Then, visit the Gnawa village of the dark skin people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Nearby there is the lake of Merzouga to admire, with its migratory bird populations. In the afternoon, it’s time to get a desert turban before your camel safari of one hour and half starts heading to the mysteriously impressive sand-sea of Erg-Chebbi; the highest sand dune in Morocco to see one of the best sunsets in your life. This trek will be guided by an experienced camel man where Dinner is a Bivouac in front of the tent where you will spend the night (the camp is equipped with flush-toilets and shower).
Early morning, your camel man will wake you up to watch and admire one of the best sunrises in your life. After, you will camel trek back to your Riad in Merzouga. En-route taking in the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast, you will start exploring the rest of the area enjoying the large empty space of the Sahara desert and the Erg Chebbi, visiting Nomads living in nomadic berber tents and after that the opportunity to see the mines at Mefis before heading back to the village of Merzouga and your overnight in the Riad.
Leave for Fes via the Middle Atlas Mountains reaching Azrou and Ifrane. Stopping en-route in Azrou to explore the largest Cedar forest in North Africa. You will have the opportunity to see the Barbarian apes in their natural habitat. Then you continue your journey to the enchanting city of Ifrane known as “the French village”or” the Switzerland of Morocco”. Finally, you arrive to Fes. Overnight accommodation in Hotel/Riad.
The whole day is devoted to discover the ancient walled city of Fes -- one of the largest cities in the world. A guided tour to explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruits, heaps of spices, intricately carved doors and arches and many other artistic objects of Morocco. A visit to the King's Palace, the Tanneries, and the potters sections. After winding your way deeply into the medina, you will get to have lunch at one of the best restaurant in Fes (not included). After lunch, you will complete the tour and return to your Hotel for a comfortable evening. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant.
After breakfast, you will travel to Meknes and and Volubilis via the foot hills of the Rif Mounatins. Meknes is another significant imperial city in Morocco, known as the Ismaili capital, built by Moulay Ismail an Alawaite King. Your first stop will be at the famous gate Bab Mansour and Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then, you drive to Volubilis, the Roman ruins, dating to 25BC. After lunch on the way, you will head towards Chefchaouen, The Blue City. Overnight accommodation in Riad.
After breakfast, you will have a tour of this «fresh" blue town located in the Rif Mountains. The tour would include a visit to the old medina...the main square, Uta el-Hammam, offering an authentic look at Moroccan life, the kasbah Museum with interior/ exterior gardens, a small waterfall -- Ras el Maa-- located east of the medina often frequented by locals and perhaps a visit to a women's coop to have a demonstration about their work and artistry. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant.
Head to Rabat - the administrative capital and residence of the king. Enjoy the beautiful coastal city including the ancient medina with its ramparts, the mueusum of modern art, kasbah of the Oudayas, the Royal Palace Gate and Hassan Tower. Overnight in Hotel/Riad.
After breakfast and depending on your departure time, we will drive you to Casablanca Airport for your flight departure.
